OT Cyber stalwarts Industrial Defender and Waterfall Security team up on OT unidirectional data flow

This partnership combines Industrial Defender‘s deep expertise in operational technology (OT) data collection and normalization with Waterfalls industry-leading Unidirectional Gateways to secure OT

According to the joint announcement, this collaboration will ensure safe transmission of cybersecurity data in Operational Technology Environments.  The joint solution unites Industrial Defender’s breadth of security, change detection and compliance data with Waterfall’s industry-leading Unidirectional Security Gateways to safely transmit asset data from control systems to cybersecurity teams.

The two primary use cases for the joint solution are outlined below.

Secure, Compliant OT Asset Data Transmission

Industrial Defender ASM periodically collects configuration data (Firmware, Software, Ports, Services, Firewall Rules, Users) from ICS devices and monitors the devices for changes. In additional to configuration data, ASM can monitor security events generated by Waterfall devices. This information is sent safely and unidirectionally to our ASM for real-time analysis of how OT devices are changing, who changed them, and whether they are vulnerable to cyberattacks.

Safe Transfer of OT Network Data to Security Teams

OT network data is packaged and safely transmitted through Unidirectional Gateways, where ultimately it arrives at the ASM where security teams can correlate security events with configuration changes to get real-time visibility into how your critical infrastructure is changing, who changed it and if you are exposed to vulnerabilities.

“By joining forces with Waterfall, our joint customers, especially those in highly regulated industries, will benefit from secure and compliant OT asset data transmission,” says Jim Crowley, CEO at Industrial Defender. “This information is sent safely to our ASM for real-time analysis of how OT devices are changing, who changed them, and whether they are vulnerable to cyberattacks.”

“We are pleased to be working with Industrial Defender, a pioneer in OT security,” says Lior Frenkel, CEO and Co-Founder of Waterfall Security Solutions. “Safe, comprehensive visibility into industrial networks is a cornerstone of modern industrial cybersecurity.”
